	Born in Berlin
	1970-1980 instruction in drawing and painting by Prof. Brand and Prof. Seehausen at the Hannover Art School.
	1980 Instruction at the Art Academy Goldegg given by Prof. Itzinger.
	1981 Accepted for the Master Class at the Goldegg Art Academy and continuation of studies there. First exhibit in Hannover. 1982 Academy Award
	1983 member of "The Academy of Europe" in Salsomaggiore Terme, Italy, the Goldegg Art Academy, the Hannover Art Association, and the Kestner Society, Hannover.
	Since 1984 study and painting tours in Provence, France, Toscana, the Lake of Garda, Rome and Indonesia.
	1984 - 1986 Studies of Art History
	Since 1990 instructor for oil and water colour painting at the "Goldegg Castle Painting Academy" in Austria and in her own art studio.
	Exhibitions in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, France and the USA.
About the artist The structure of Karin Paland's still life oil painting, her landscapes and flower paintings is decorative in the best sense of that word in spite of it's austerity. When seeing her paintings one does not feel the effort she put into them, but one does notice her painting ability, for instance in the quality of her brush strokes - that often are anonymous in oil paintings. This ability, this knowledge and her studied use of different techniques do not make her works of art less spontaneous at all. Especially her watercolours express her spontaneous way of painting.
